Review & Day-to-Night Makeup Look: Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral 02

Welcome back everyone!

I'm here with a different type of review post today, and am (somewhat) terrified about showing my makeup skills on here but hopefully you can see how versatile this palette is. The Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral 02  is one of the main items I wanted to get from my recent US haul - it is an all-matte palette, and as the name suggests, comprising of 12 neutral, brown-based powders.

US makeup haul & swap!

HELLO lovelies!

If you've been following me on social media you might have noticed that I had the pleasure of spending a couple of days with American Youtube blogger Serein Wu (Dress Yourself Happy) recently. Of course, it was inevitable that we ended up swapping some beauty items from across the Atlantic... And I have a few snaps and quick swatches of what she got me from the US!

My Summer face: Wearable lip trends

Hello beauties!

So today I have a make-up post, and it's all about how to carry that pout proud this season!
New technological advances in cosmetics has led to 'multi-functional' lip products - I've tried to unravel the hundreds of spin-offs from the humble lipstick, with a few swatches of my favourite colours I've been wearing this Summer.

Review: Samurai Star Rose Gold Satin Blush (Ultraflesh)

Good day my loves!

I'm super excited to give you my first beauty-related review on here. Hopefully you won't mind the slightly untested/tried format, it ended up being quite very in-depth, be prepared. ^_^

So I picked up this super lux-looking item from my favourite browsing arena, none other than... The beauty shelf at TKMaxx (no judging!). I know it's not at all glamorous nor particularly fruitful 90% of the time, but when a gem is uncovered, my instinct is to go for it. And at £3.99 (RRP £17) I thought the going may end up somewhere great.

My Summer Face: Natural base for blemish-prone skin

This is going to be a part of a mini-series of posts of "My Summer Face", where I will show you a few of my go-to products to look fresh, healthy and stay protected.

Today is all about the base, creating a flawless yet shielding layer against the sun.

First of all, let's briefly talk about my skin type.

I wasn't too fortunate with my largest organ, especially across my face. I have combination and reactive skin: it is sometimes oily, sometimes dry, often both and always hyperpigmented or blemished in some way. My acne is most sensitive to INTERNAL factors such as stress, hormones, dehydration, and the lack of sleep - levels of which have all greatly escalated in the last exam period. And now that's over and done with, it's time for a skin clear up.

Moisturising

This is an extremely important step following cleansing and toning (I simply dab Lush's Tea Tree water onto blemishes with a cotton pad). Even if you have oily-combination skin, if it is not hydrated enough the skin will attempt to compensate by producing even more sebum.

I use a mixture of the Body Shop's Vitamin E moisture cream and La Roche-Posay's tinted SPF 50 cream, the effect of which is the best I've experienced for a [relatively] smooth and pore-refining look. I will dedicate another post on sun-protection, but I always use factor 50 on my face - have large 'freckles' (really they are just baby moles :/) which am trying to control, as well as  for general anti-aging reasons.
